Welcome to Jax Fish Fry!

Inspired by the Northern-style fish fry traditions we grew up loving in upstate New York, we opened Jax Fish Fry to bring those flavors to Jacksonville. Using fresh North Atlantic cod, lightly breaded and cooked to perfection, we’ve crafted a simple, heartfelt menu that lets the seafood shine. From our family’s favorite recipes to homemade desserts baked by Dori herself, every bite is made with care and a passion for quality. Jax fish fry is a local gem with absolutely fantastic lobster rolls and fish rolls.
Super small menu makes ordering a breeze. Their potato wedges are absolutely stellar as well. For the money, this lobster roll is hands-down the best value for money in the city! This review pertains to the Baymeadows location, but they also have a location off of 210 in St John’s county. Support local and get yourself a cod or lobster roll today!

First time every having a lobster roll, and was not disappointed. It was moist, rich, and full of lumpy chunks of sweet lobster. I got a side of clams and they were perfectly done, not tough or rubbery, but tender and crisp. Love the unique fry shape, but they need a bit more seasoning/salt. I will be back! Excellent $18 fresh lobster roll! The bun could be toasted longer; perhaps 60 seconds instead of 45 seconds to get a crisp edge to the bun. The lobster roll was overstuffed so I ordered another toasted bun and made 2 lobster rolls!!! The fresh cut potato slices were a nice flavorful addition. The restaurant is contemporary and immaculate! I finally tried their popular fried shrimp which were exellent!

I snagged a cod roll just because I’d never tried it, and the size of that fish filet was so impressive! For $9 with those uniquely cut fries and a side of coleslaw, I don’t know how you can beat that! It was so fresh and flaky! YUM
